Sidi Kaouki
Sidi Kaouki ,with its 4,000 inhabitants, lies approximately 20km to the south of Essaouira and these days it is mostly known for its beach, which is famed around the world for kitesurfing. In the past, the town was known for its namesake - Marabout, a local saint and temple.
Near the Marabout temple, directly on the beach, there are several small restaurants. These serve a variety of foods ranging from snacks such as burgers and fries to more traditional meat and fish dishes. The fish dishes use freshly caught, local fish and are prepared on small wooden grills. There are several small shops in the town if you are in need of groceries.
